Ingredients For roasted brussel sprouts

  • 1 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2 lb
    brussel sprouts
  • 1/4 c
    chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tsp
    butter, softened
  • 1 tsp
    freshly ground black pepper
  • 3/4 tsp
    grated lemon rind
  • 1/4 c
    shredded parmesan cheese

How To Make roasted brussel sprouts

    Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

    Trim & clean brussel sprouts by rinsing with water & removing the outer layers. Layers should be pale green. Trim stems.

    Slice in half; quarter if large enough.

    Combine sugar, olive oil, salt, & brussel sprouts in a bowl. Toss well.

    Spray a jellyroll pan with cooking spray. Spread brussel sprouts in single layer on the pan.

    Bake for 20-25 min, turning after 15 min. They will get brown & crisp. (You can decrease or increase the baking time to your liking).

    Remove from oven. With a spatula, transfer brussel sprouts to a bowl. Add the parsley, butter, pepper, & lemon. Stir together. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
