This is my Aunt Ginnys recipe for candied yams. It was always a hit during the holidays

Ingredients

6 large
yams, quartered or a lg can of yams
1 stick
real butter
1 bottle
pure maple syrup (the real deal)

Step-By-Step

1If using fresh yams, peel quarter and pre cook in pot of water.

2Melt butter into frying pan.

3Place yam pieces in butter and allow to simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.

4Turn heat to low medium, enough to allow bubbling. Pour maple syrup over yams and cook for approximately another 10 minutes or more until you have a good coating on yams.

5Pour syrup and yams in serving dish and serve with entree of choice.
