Slow Cooker Lentil and Ham Soup

Benny Shackelford

My wife Nancy and I found the basis of this soup on another site, now I can't find the other site. We adapted this soup to our no salt soup. Try it. Think you will like it. This version of the recipe is presented by Ben/Mojo's Diner.

Directions Step-By-Step

In a 3 1/2 quart or larger slow cooker combine the lentil, celery, carrots, onion, garlic and ham.
Seson with basil, thyme, oregano, pepper and the bay leaf.
Stir in the chicken broth, water and tomato sauce.
Cover cook and on low for 11 hrs.

We started on high for an hour at first then turned it down to slow. This way you can cook the soup in about 6 hours. For those of you working or will not be home turn the soup down, go ahead slow cook for 11 hrs.
