Valerie's Story

I've been to several covered dish events where an inexperienced cook brought unseasoned green beans straight out of the can. So I thought there may be someone who would like some help with canned green beans.

A simple recipe for a quick meal.


2 can(s)
cut green beans (14.5 oz cans)
1 1/2 tsp
chicken bouillon granules (i use wyler's)
1 Tbsp
Find more recipes at
1 tsp
seasoned salt (i use lawry's)
1/2 tsp
1 Tbsp
dry minced onions

Directions Step-By-Step

NOTE: this recipe is intended for green beans from a can.
Drain juice off green beans. Rinse beans well with cold water.
Place beans in sauce pan and add just enough cold tap water to barely cover beans.
Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil for 1 minute.
Reduce heat and simmer for 15 - 20 minutes. Stir once or twice while cooking.

    that wouldn't be me! I love green beans any way shape or form, thank you for this recipe! What I do is...brown up some bacon, crumble it, heat green beans, drain, add bacon, and seasoning, salt pepper, butter, just before serving add a few handfuls of crutons..
