Candied Sweet Potatoes

- 2 - 3 sweet potatoes - the ones with orange skins
- 1/2 stick butter
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1Wash and peel potatoes and cut into 1/4 inch slices lengthwise.
2Place in a heavy skillet in which butter has been melted.
3Sprinkle with the sugar, water and cinnamon.
4Cover and cook very slowly until the potatoes are tender.
