My husband always loves it when I make this and people always are asking me for the recipe. Its pretty easy and works great as a side dish.

2 Tbsp
butter
2 Tbsp
all purpose flour
1 tsp
salt
1 tsp
sugar
1/4 c
white onion (chopped)
1 c
sour cream
3 3/4 c
green beans, fresh (chopped)
2 1/2 c
cheddar cheese
1 c
butter crakers, crushed
1 Tbsp
butter, melted

Directions Step-By-Step

Pre-heat oven to 350F/175C.
Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large pan over medium heat. Stir in flour until smooth. Add and mix in the salt, sugar, onion, and sour cream.

Add the green beans; stir to coat well. Transfer the mixture to a 2 1/2 quart casserole dish. Spread shredded cheese over the top.

In a small bowl, toss together cracker crumbs and the 1 tbsp melted butter. Sprinkle this over the cheese.
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
