Ingredients

4 Tbsp butter
4 Tbsp flour
1 1/2 c milk
2 c whole corn
1 1/2 c grated cheese
3 eggs
1 Tbsp dijon mustard
1/2 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 c bread crumbs

My grampa made this when I was a kid. Now my children request this recipe when it is bring your own dish night.

 

Directions

Over medium heat melt butter, whisk in flour & milk together until mixture thickens.

Remove from heat. Add remaining ingredients in order given.

Place in "greased" 2 quart baking dish. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour or until firm.

Do you use cream style corn or regular corn in can?

Velma, Sorry it took so long to get back to you regarding your question, I have been laid up with back spasms. I always use a can of whole corn BUT you can use cream style if you wish or better yet you can use 1/2 whole corn & 1/2 cream style corn to measure out the 2 cups needed.

I just edited it to state - "whole corn".
