As Sweet as Brussels

My husband hated Brussel Sprouts, those little Alien Heads that no one knows what they are ! Then I created these for him ! Now he loves them.

brussel sprouts
1 medium
vidalia or sweet onion, finely diced
3 Tbsp
olive oil, extra virgin
1 1/2 Tbsp
brown sugar
1 tsp
minced garlic
2 Tbsp

Directions Step-By-Step

In a medium saucepan boil the brussel sprouts till they turn bright green. (only about 4-5 minutes. Remove from heat, drain completely. Let cool for 5 minutes. Cut them in half so they will lay in the frying pan.
In a 12" frying pan, line the bottom of the pan with the olive oil, add the minced garlic abd diced onions. Cook on medium heat until onions are almost done. Add brussel sprouts making sure they are lying on the flat edge. Add water and brown sugar
Continue to cook on medium heat until the onions and the bottoms of the brussel sprouts have caramelized (turned brown). Remove from heat serve immediately.
