Ingredients For marinated three-bean salad

  • 1 can
    (8 3/4 oz) regular or low-sodium red kidney beans, drained
  • 1 can
    (8 oz) cut wax beans or 1 can (8 1/2 oz) lima beans, drained
  • 1 can
    (8 oz) regular or low-sodium green beans, drained
  • 1/2 c
    onion, chopped (1 medium)
  • 1/4 - 1/2 c
    green pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 c
    fresh celery, diced
  • sometimes, i might substitute an orange bell pepper for the green. or, change one of the bean types or add an extra type of bean.
  • ********DRESSING********
  • 1/2 c
    vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp
    sugar or splenda
  • 3 Tbsp
    water
  • 1 Tbsp
    salad oil
  • 1/2 tsp
    celery seed or 1 tsp. dried celery flakes
  • 1 clove
    garlic, minced

How To Make marinated three-bean salad

  • 1
    In a medium mixing bowl, combine red kidney beans, wax beans or lima beans, green beans, onion, and green pepper, and fresh celery.

    For dressing in a screw-top jar, combine vinegar, sugar, water, salad oil, celery seed or dried celery flakes, and garlic. Cover, and shake well. Add to vegetables; stir lightly. Cover, and chill for 4 to 24 hours, stirring often. Serve with a slotted spoon. Makes 6 servings.
