Ingredients

1 Tbsp
olive oil
1 Tbsp
butter, room temperature
4 large
garlic cloves, minced
1/3 c
onions, chopped
1/2 tsp
sugar
dash(es)
pepper, [to our taste]
1 can(s)
[14 oz] chicken broth, fat-free
1 1/2 lb
green beans, fresh [cut in 1 inch pieces]
6-8 slice
bacon, cooked and crumbled

Step-By-Step

1IN A SAUCEPAN, MELT BUTTER AND OLIVE OIL OVER A MEDIUM HEAT.
2ADD ONIONS, COOK ABOUT 2 MINUTES, THEN ADD GARLLIC; DO NOT LET GARLIC BURN.
3ADD CHICKEN BROTH, SUGAR, SALT AND PEPPER; BRING TO A BOIL.
4ADD GREEN BEANS, RETURN TO BOILING, COVER AND REDUCE HEAT TO LOW.
5SIMMER 10-15 MINUTES OR UNTIL BEANS ARE TENDER.
6PLACED PREPARED BEANS IN A SERVING DISH; TOP WITH CRUMBLED BACON.
7SERVE HOT.
