Onion Apple Bake

A lovely tasty side dish to compliment any meal. If you are not watching calories etc add a couple tbsp of butter and top with some buttered crumbs. Add some cheese if you wish but it is also delish just plain. I like to use hot paprika.

Ingredients

4 large
onions, chopped

tart apples, cored, peeled and chopped
2 c
celery, diced
2 Tbsp
margarine
3 slice
crisp cooked bacon, crumbled
3 c
bread cubes
3 Tbsp
shredded parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp
salt
1/4 tsp
pepper
1/2 c
boiling bouilion
1/4 c
butter

Step-By-Step

1In large casserole dish mix together the onion, apple, celery and crumbled bacon plus salt and pepper.
Dot with margarine

2Top with a thin layer of onion and bacon.
Add boiling bouilion.
Cover and bake for 50 minutes.

3Meanwhile toast bread cubes in 1/4 cup of butter; blend in parmesan cheese.
Sprinkle over hot casserole and bake uncovered 15 minutes.
