Crumble Topping

My recipe card says this came from "" as a Sweet potato Casserole topping, but to be honest, I use this on EVERYTHING that needs a streusel or crumble topping. I only buy Old Fashioned oats & never seem to have any issues & it is the cheapest to buy by far.

3/4 c
3 Tbsp
3/4 can(s)
brown sugar, firmly packed
1 1/2 tsp
cinnamon, ground — can bump up to 1 tablespoon if wished
1/3 c
cold lard; butter can be used too
1 c
pecans, in pieces
3/4 c
coconut, shredded {optional}
1/2 tsp
ground ginger {optional}
1/4 tsp
nutmeg {optional}

Directions Step-By-Step

Put all ingredients in the food processor & whirl until crumbly. Can also use a bowl & pastry blender until crumbly.
My family doesn't care for the coconut flakes, but I like it. The ginger & nutmeg give it a bit of Holiday cheer, but I do not always add them to this.
