Mama's Easy Mexican Rice

I was experimenting a month ago on this recipe and finally got it right. My husband is a very picky eater, and well, he loved it and so did I.

This recipe is quick and easy to make.

Ingredients

1 Tbsp
vegetable oil
1 c
long grain rice (rinsed)
2 1/2 c
cold water
1/2 large
yellow onion
1 tsp
salt
1 tsp
pepper
2 tsp
garlic salt
8 oz
tomato sauce

Step-By-Step

1Make sure you rinse the rice & drain the excess water.

2Heat oil in a big skillet under medium heat.

3Add rice in skillet and lightly brown the rice.

4After rice has been lightly browned, add water & rest of the ingredients.

5Make sure you stir all the ingredients after adding.

6Bring to a boil for a minute

7Cover & Simmer til tender

8Cooks within 15-20 minutes til tender.

9Stir every 8 minutes to mix the ingredients together.

10Enjoy!!!!
