Ingredients

1 Tbsp
vegetable oil
1 c
long grain rice
2 1/2 c
cold water
2 tsp
salt
2 tsp
garlic salt or 1 teaspoon garlic powder

8 oz. can tomato sauce

Directions Step-By-Step

In a skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add rice and cook until lightly browned. Add water and remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer until rice is tender, about 30 minutes. Don't stir while rice is simmering. Wait until the rice is done to stir.
