sweet and spicy sweet potatoes

This is a quick and easy side dish. The sweet and spicy combination is wonderful! You can prepare these ahead of time and toss the bag in the fridge and pull it out when ready! These are also great for a different side dish for Thanksgiving!

Ingredients For sweet and spicy sweet potatoes

  • 2 lg
    sweet potatoes
  • 3 Tbsp
    olive oil, extra virgin
  • 2 tsp
    brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    paprika
  • 1/2 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 pinch
    cayenne pepper
  • coarse kosher salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp
    chili powder

How To Make sweet and spicy sweet potatoes

    Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).

    Put olive oil in a large mixing bowl or Ziploc bag, then add the brown sugar, paprika, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, poultry seasoning, chili powder, salt and cayenne pepper and mix. Add the potatoes and toss until they’re evenly coated with the seasoning. Spread onto a baking sheet.

    Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, then turn the potatoes over with a spatula, and continue baking until the sweet potatoes are golden and tender, 10 to 15 minutes more.
