*** Mom's Tater Tot Casserole ***

I am not understanding your recipe. You never do mention when to add the "6 ozs. of deli sliced ham", so when does that get added and when you lastly mention to "top with 2 C reserved tater tots & cheese"; my question is: "What Cheese??" The ONLY cheese you ever talk about in this recipe is 1 1/2 cup Cottage Cheese; and yes, 1/2 cup is left at this point! But is that actually supposed to be mixed with the 2 C reserved tater tots at the end and then baked? Most all other tater tot recipes call for shredded cheese of some sort (course none I've seen before use cottage cheese, either), but I just want to check to be sure!! Please clarify both of these questions for me and others wanting to make your recipe ~ please.

Mix together remaining ingredients & tater tots in egg mixture. Add vegetables, mix well. Pour in dish. Top with 2 C reserved tater tots & cheese. Bake 45 minutes or until golden.

Yes it is the cottage cheese. No there is no shredded cheese in this recipe.

Never meant to offend, I only wanted to understand better before I tackled a new recipe. Seemed it was my mistake on the ham part, you did state, "mix together remaining ingredients" (which includes ham) and when it came to the cheese, well, as I explained - I still ONLY wanted to understand more clearly since cottage cheese was a new item to me used in Tater Tot Casserole - you didn't even make a typo - I was just checking to be sure - so you didn't even need to be defensive! The whole bottom part of your explanation would have sufficed but for your opening words - definitely not necessary - Thanks!
