green beans, ham, & potatoes (in the slow cooker)
No Image
This recipe is from Allrecipes, although, is very much like my own. I didn't have quantities, so this enables me to be more accurate. I tend to taste, add, & taste, with my own cooking. And, I usually use the stovetop, but would like to use my slow cooker more. Slight tweaking with having extra meat.

How To Make green beans, ham, & potatoes (in the slow cooker)
-
1Halve beans, if they are large, place in a slow cooker, with water to barely cover, and add onion, and ham hocks. Cover, and cook on HIGH, until simmering. Reduce heat to LOW, and cook for 2-3 hours, or until beans are crisp but not done.
-
2Add potatoes, and cook another 45 minutes. While potatoes are cooking, remove ham hocks from slow cooker, and remove meat from bones. Chop or shred meat, and return to slow cooker. If ham hocks don't yield enough ham, add in some full cooked chopped ham. Season with remaining ingredients. Cook, until potatoes are done, and extra ham is well heated. Then, adjust seasoning to taste.
-
3To serve, use a slotted spoon to put beans, potatoes, and ham, into a serving dish with a little broth. Makes 10 servings. Nutrition: One serving 200 cal, 9 g fat (3.1 g sat), 29 mg chol, 133 mg sod, 573 mg potassium, 20.6 g carb, 4.5 g fiber, 10.2 g protein.
