I have no clue with this one. We don't have a Grandma Annie in the family, but this recipe was in Mom's recipe file, so I have to add it. LOL!

Ingredients For grandma annie's german potato salad

  • 6 md
    potatoes, cooked, peeled & sliced
  • 4 slice
    bacon, crumbled, uncooked
  • 1 sm
    onion, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1 c
    water
  • 1/3 c
    vinegar
  • 1/3 - 1/2 c
    sugar
  • salt & pepper, to taste
  • parsley flakes, to taste

How To Make grandma annie's german potato salad

    Chop bacon (see note), & cook. Add onion to bacon & drippings, cook just until soft, not crisp. Add flour to bacon/onion mixture, mix. Add water in, stir. Add vinegar & sugar, continue cooking over low heat. Add salt, pepper & parsley, mix well. Add sliced potatoes, heat until warmed. Serve warm.

    NOTE: To easily chop bacon raw.... Put what you need (amount) in freezer until stiff. Can easily chop up without being greasy.
