I like to make 2 versions of potato salad for large get togethers, that way every one has something they like.

Ingredients For german style potato salad

  • 8
    potatoes
  • 2
    shallots
  • 2
    links of german style (or elgin hot sausage)
  • 3 Tbsp
    apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 c
    water
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    smoked black pepper
  • 4 lg
    cloves of garlic

How To Make german style potato salad

  • 1
    Peel the potatoes and cut them into 1 inch chunks. Place in a large pot of salted water and boil until tender and then drain well.

    Quarter the sausage so that it looks like pickle spears and then slice thinly. Thinly slice the shallots and slice the garlic.

    Saute the sausage in a large non stick skillet, wit the shallots and garlic until the sausage is crisp.

    Add the potatoes to the skillet, salt and pepper and apple cider vinegar and water. Stir and cook until liquid is absorbed.

    Serve warm.
