Ingredients For crunchy hash brown casserole

  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 tsp
    oregano, dried
  • 1 can
    cream of celery soup
  • 16 oz
    sour cream
  • 2 Tbsp
    chives, dried
  • 2 lb. pkg
    hash brown potatoes, shredded, frozen
  • 1 md
    onion, chopped
  • 1/2 c
    celery, chopped
  • 1/2 c
    red bell pepper, chopped
  • 16 oz
    cheddar cheese, shredded
  • TOPPING:
  • 3 pkg
    shake n bake (extra crispy)
  • 1/4 c
    butter

How To Make crunchy hash brown casserole

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

    Mix together butter, salt, pepper, oregano, soup, & sour cream; set aside.

    Combine hash browns, onion, celery, green pepper, & cheese; add to sour cream mixture. Mix well.

    Spoon into a greased 13 x 9 x 2" baking dish. For topping, combine shake n bake & butter; sprinkle over casserole. Bake for 45 minutes.
