Creamed peas and potatos

This was my moms recipe. My favorite side dish.

Stove Top

Ingredients

1 lb
small new potatos
11/2 c
frozen baby peas
1 Tbsp
minced onion
1 Tbsp
margarine
1 Tbsp
flour
1/2 tsp
salt
1/8 tsp
black pepper
1 Tbsp
sugar
1 c
milk

Step-By-Step

1Peel and boil potatoes. Don't overcook. Drain. Set aside. Boil the peas until tender.
2In a saucepan, add the onion and the butter. Cook until the onions are tender. Add the flour, salt and pepper. Stir until well mixed. Add the milk. Stir until well blended.
3Continue to stir and simmer until mixture has thickened. Cook for 1 more minute. Add the sugar while simmering. Add the peas and potatoes to the sauce. Stir well till heated thoroughly.
