Ingredients For bacon & sweet potato hush puppies w/ creamy dip

  • CREAMY DIP:
  • 1/4 c
    sour cream, fat-free
  • 1/3 c
    honey mustard
  • 1 tsp
    lemon juice
  • HUSH PUPPIES:
  • 1 - 8 oz box
    corn bread mix
  • 1/4 c
    cornmeal
  • 1 md
    onion, finely chopped
  • 1 x lg
    egg
  • 1/2 c
    mashed sweet potatoes
  • 6 slice
    bacon cooked crisp & crumbled
  • vegetable oil

How To Make bacon & sweet potato hush puppies w/ creamy dip

    DIP: Combine all ingredients together in a medium bowl; mix well. Refrigerate until ready to use.

    HUSH PUPPIES: Preheat deep fryer with oil to 350 degrees F.

    In a large bowl, combine corn bread mix, cornmeal, onion, egg, sweet potatoes & bacon; mix well. Using a small ice cream/cookie scooper, drop batter into hot oil, about 4 at a time, until golden brown, about 3 - 4 minutes. Remove & drain on paper towels. Repeat with all batter.
