I'm always looking for new, fun ways to spice up the regular dishes. So I tried this one and will integrate it into our next holiday meals. It comes from one of the Taste of Homes publications.

3 c

nutmeg
1/2 tsp
allspice, ground

2 dash(es)
pepper
3 Tbsp

1
In a greased 1-½ qt baking dish, layer half of the sweet potatoes and apples. Combine brown sugar, nutmeg, allspice, salt, and pepper; sprinkle half of this mixture over the apples. Cover and bake at 350*F for 30 minutes. Baste with pan juices. Bake, uncovered, 30 minutes longer or until the apples are tender.
