Ingredients For 7 layer chop dinner casserole

  • 4 lg
    potatoes (white), sliced
  • 1 - 16 oz. can
    peas, liquid reserved
  • 1/2 head
    red or green cabbage, shredded
  • 2 lg
    sweet potatoes, sliced
  • 1 lb
    mushrooms, fresh, sliced
  • 1 lg
    bermuda onion, sliced thin
  • 1 lg
    red onion, sliced thin
  • 4 - 8 oz.
    pork chops, boneless
  • garlic powder, to taste
  • salt & pepper, to taste
  • 16 oz
    marinara sauce

How To Make 7 layer chop dinner casserole

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

    Lightly grease a deep casserole dish on the bottom.

    Layer the sliced white potatoes & sprinkle with garlic powder.

    Layer peas.
  • 5
    Layer sweet potatoes.
  • 6
    Layer cabbage & sprinkle with salt & pepper.

    Layer mushrooms & sprinkle with pepper.
  • 8
    Layer both onions & sprinkle with pepper.

    Sprinkle chops with garlic, salt & pepper & place them, seasoned side down, on top of the onions.

    Mix the reserved pea water with the marinara & pour over the casserole.

    Cover with a tight lid or foil & bake 40 - 45 minutes.

    Remove cover & bake another 15 minutes or so, until top is browned well.
