This is my family's very favorite cheese dish for all holiday and family gatherings. We can't get together at Thanksgiving or Christmas and not have this dish. My mother made this up many years ago because my father did not like the fat, rubbery taste of macaroni. As you know most holidays etc. macaroni and cheese is a must have! I have to admit it took me a while to master this recipe just like my mother had it but as we know our mothers are always the best cooks to their children. I've passed this recipe on to my son who loves to cook and other members of our family.

How To Make spaghetti and cheese

Cook and drain spaghetti noodles as directed on the package. Grease a 2 1/2 casserole dish. Pour drained spaghetti into the casserole dish. Add 3 tablespoons of butter, 1/2-cup of milk, and 1/2 cup grated cheese to this and mix together. Bake uncovered for about 10 minutes or until the milk is soaked up pretty good. Repeat by adding milk, more butter and cheese mix well bake again. Take out add more milk and top with cheese. The key to this recipe is to not let the milk cook completely away at the end just keep adding; you don't want it runny but you want it gooey. I add the salt and pepper on the first mix but I also add a little more pepper on the second mix because we like pepper. This is not good if you don't keep adding lots of butter, cheese and milk. Bake 350 degrees.

I know this is a pain to keep taking out and stirring but it is so worth it at the end!
