My brother was stationed in Germany and brought this German noodle recipe home. I think this tastes better heated up the second day. You will need a Spaetzle maker (can be found on line) or a round cake pan with 1/2 inch holes drilled in it works too.

Ingredients For spaetzle

  • 1 c
    flour
  • 2
    eggs
  • 2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 c
    milk
  • 8 c
    water
  • season to tast ( i like dill and garlic powder on mine)

How To Make spaetzle

    Mix ingredients together and let sit for 2 to 3 hours in refrigerator before cooking.

    Bring 8 cups of water to a boil in large pan. Place the pan with holes over the water as it begins to boil. (you can purchase a Spaetzle maker. I found them on line)

    Pour batter over the holes, scraping the batter over the holes until batter falls through holes and into water.

    Let noodles boil for 3 minutes and remove from water. Put some butter on them and serve.
