I always hated the powdery taste of box mac & cheese. So I made up my own quick stovetop version. Can be put in a casserole dish & browned on top if desired.

Use any cheese you like. Just watch to see which ones melt the smoothest. I have omitted the Mexican Velveeta & used Kraft Colby Jack with a touch of Philidelphia cream cheese, it was really good!

Ingredients

4 oz
muenster cheese, shredded
5 oz
mexican velveta, cubed
8 oz
regular velveta, cubed
2 Tbsp
butter
1/3 c
milk
16 oz
maccaroni noodles, we like ready cut style or rotini
black pepper, to taste
garlic salt, to taste
dash of hot sauce

Directions Step-By-Step

Cook noodles to package directions. Drain well.

While thats working, in a medium sauce pan, add all other ingredients on medium heat stirring occasionally to melt. (Add more milk, if it seems too thick. you want it creamy.)

Stir together in pasta pot, cover. allow to rest for 5-10 minutes. Stir before serving.
