One of the early recipes my Italian American Husbands Family in Italy taught me to make was a very Basic Pasta Recipe that is served almost like a "side dish" but is a second course of a typical 5 to 8 course Italian meal. In English, this is Angel Hair Pasta with garlic and oil, but has a lot of flavor as a result of the Crushed Red Pepper and Parmesan Cheese added.
While Pasta is cooking saute garlic in olive oil until lightly browned and then remove from heat.
Once Pasta is cooked, drain and return to hot pot and add oil and garlic and toss until oil and garlic evenly coats pasta. Add the crushed red pepper and toss. Then add parmesano cheese and toss. Serve hot.
