White Steamed Rice! Perfectly cooked

This rice is so easy to make my husband that DOES NOT COOK made it today 8/16/2011 I cook this all the time at least 3 times a week.

1 c
rice, long , short really doesn't matter
2 c
1 Tbsp
butter (optional)
1/2 tsp
salt, to your own taste
1/2 tsp
of oil--> omit oil if you use butter


1Wash rice until water come out clear this is what prevents rice from getting sticky. After is clean add the 2 cups of water, butter and salt (I sometimes use pepper but that is optional) Bring it to a boil cover and cook in LOW heat for 20 minutes. Let stand for 5 more minutes with no heat, keep lid cover on.. Fluff with fork!
