The Best Baked Beans Ever

I have to give kudos to Ree Drummond of the Food Network. I started with her recipe the added and tweaked a bit to suit my family's taste. I have taken these to several dinners and always come home with an empty container. They are better the second day, so make ahead for the best results.

8 slice
1 medium
onion, chopped fine
1 large clove
garlic, minced
3 28oz can(s)
pork and beans
1/2 c
brown sugar
3/4 c
bbq sauce, your favorite brand
1/4 c
apple cider vinegar
2 tsp
ground mustard


1In a large skillet, cook bacon about halfway. Remove bacon from skillet and place on paper towels to drain.

2Add onion and garlic to bacon grease in skillet. Sauté On medium heat till onion is soft, about 5 min.

3Add beans and remaining ingredients to skillet. Cook about 5 min until flavors are blended.

4Transfer to baking dish. A 9x13 works well. Lay bacon slices on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 2 hours. Let sit about 5 minutes before serving.
