These are delicious Beans. I am always being asked for the recipe. More often than not, I add ground beef and bacon..This recipe is out of February 1998 issue of Taste of Home.. Enjoy!

Ingredients For partytime beans - crock pot

  • 1 1/2 c
    ketchup
  • 1 md
    onion, chopped
  • 1 md
    green pepper, chopped
  • 1 md
    red pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 1/2 c
    packed brown sugar
  • 2
    bay leaves
  • 2 to 3 tsp
    cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp
    ground mustard
  • 1/8 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 can
    ( 16 ounce) kidney beans. rinsed and drained
  • 1 can
    ( 15 1/2 ounces) great northern beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can
    ( 15 ounces) lima beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can
    ( 15 ounces) black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can
    ( 15 1/2 ounces) black eyes peas, rinsed and drained. i sometimes substitute a can of garbanzo beans

How To Make partytime beans - crock pot

    In a slow cooker, combine the first 10 ingredients; mix well. Add the beans and peas; mix well. Cover and cook on low for 5 - 7 hours or until onions and peppers are tender. Remove bay leaves. I have done these in the oven also..delicious!
