not your same ol' cranberry relish/salad

I've never been a big fan of cranberry relishes until I made this; it's more of a salad. It came from our Family Heritage cookbook; my grandmas recipe. It's a great 'year round' feature at our house; we love it!

Ingredients For not your same ol' cranberry relish/salad

  • 3 c
    fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 c
    white sugar or splenda
  • 1 sm
    pkg. red jello (i use sugar free)
  • 1 c
    apples, peeled, cored, chopped
  • 1/2 c
    walnuts, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 c
    chopped celery

How To Make not your same ol' cranberry relish/salad

  • 1
    Wash cranberries. Put in a pan, cover with water and bring to a boil. Cook until they start popping, stir and go a couple minutes longer.

    Add sugar and jello to the cooked cranberries; cool.

    Add the apples, walnuts and celery stirring well. Place in a covered container and refrigerate. This will last up to 3 weeks in the fridge.
