Apple Chutney

I've never had chutney before but I think that this along with some of the others I'm gonna post would go great with anything you might make.

6 c
chopped and peeled apples
1 c
1/2 c
pitted chopped dates
1 c
minced onions
2 clove
1/2 tsp
crushed red pepper
2 oz
preserved ginger,chopped
2 tsp
1/2 tsp
1/2 tsp
ground cloves
2 1/4 c
packed brown sugar
2 c
cider vinegar

Directions Step-By-Step

Combine all the ingredients in a large stainless steel saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer uncovered until thickened, about 3 hours. Stir occasionally/
Pour into clean jars to within 1/2 inch of the top. Cap and process in a hot water bath for 5 minutes.
