This is a quick and easy frosting recipe. A little different flavor than regular cream cheese frosting with the addition of marscarpone cheese, very rich and mellow. A great combination of cheese working together. Great on any dense cakes like spice, carrot or red velvet.
With an electric mixer on medium then high speed, beat cream cheese until fluffy, approximately 5 minutes; add marscarpone cheese and mix until smooth. Add butter and mix until creamy, approximately 3 minutes. Reduce mixer speed to low and add powdered sugar and mix until combine and the consistency you want. If too thick, add a small amount of water, starting with 1 teaspoon at a time.
