Ingredients For homemade ketchup

  • 1/2 sm
    walnut (size) of onion with 1/2 cup hot water use less if you want thicker.
  • 1 Tbsp
    brown sugar heaping
  • 200 g
    tomato paste, no salt added
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    mustard
  • 3 Tbsp
    vinegar

How To Make homemade ketchup

  • 1
    Dissolve brown sugar in 1/2 cup hot water. When the water cools put in the 1/2 walnut sized onion. Use a hand blender to chop onion until no big pieces are left.

    Pour tomato paste into a bowl add cloves, cinnamon, salt, mustard, vinegar and the onion water. Whisk together until smooth if you want thicker add less water.
