Being this close to the Gulf means shrimp all year long. Plus they are really economical, when your not land-locked. those of us that are really thrifty and enjoy catching our food, go to Clear Lake and catch the shrimp ourselves. Clear Lake is 1/2 salt water and 1/2 fresh water. So you can catch pretty much anything there.

Ingredients For layered shrimp dip

  • 6 Tbsp
    pace salsa, divided
  • 1/2 c
    cocktail sauce
  • 1 (8) oz
    package of cream cheese,softened
  • 18 to 20 sm
    cooked plain salsd shrimp
  • 1 can
    sliced ripe olives, drained
  • 1 c
    shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 dash
    shredded jack cheese
  • 1 bunch
    diced green onions
  • tortilla chips

How To Make layered shrimp dip

  • 1
    Combine cream cheese and 3 tablespoons salsa. Spread in the bottom of an ungreased 9-inch pie plate.

    Combine cocktail sauce and remaining salsa. Spread over cream cheese
  • 3
    Place shrimp evenly over the top of the cocktail sauce mixture.
  • 4
    Sprinkle olives over the top of the shrimp.
  • 5
    Combine the cheeses and sprinkle over the olives. Top with onions. Chill
  • 6
    Serve with tortilla chips.
