This recipe has been passed down through my family for generations. I remember my grandmother and my mother making it. Yummy as a relish with chicken or pork. It of course makes yummy pie. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

Ingredients For green tomato mincemeat

  • 10 lg
    tomato (green)
  • 3 c
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    allspice
  • 1/2 tsp
    clove, ground
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 c
    apple cider vinegar
  • 1 1/2 pt
    apples, granny smith (chopped)
  • 1 lb
    raisins (ground)

How To Make green tomato mincemeat

    Grind Green Tomatoes, put in strainer and drain off all juice. Grind raisins
  • 2
    Measure one pint of ground tomato. Pour into a 10 cup pot.

    Add remaining ingredients and cook on low heat until thick. About an hour
  • 4
    Put into hot pint jars and seal while boiling hot. For a sure seal, once lids are on and tightened, turn bottles upside down till cool.
