Pat's Notes:

This quick southern barbecue sauce is great on poultry, beef or pork. Of course you don't have to live in, or be from the south to find out how good it is!!

Years ago when we lived on the lake we had friends over for barbecue's/cookouts a lot. We liked to experiment with different sauces. This is one we came up with "back in the day;" and I use it a lot today. In fact, I think I will grill some chicken and/or pork chops tonight and slather this good sauce on it. This is not a sweet sauce -but oh so good! I hope that you like it as well as I do.

Directions

1
In saucepan, melt butter, add remaining ingredients and simmer 1-2 minutes.
2
Ready to spread over your favorite meat.

Sauce being slathered over center cut pork chops.
3
Grilling the pork chops. My mouth is watering.
4
Ready to eat. Spoon extra sauce over the meat when you are ready to eat, if desired.

Now, let's see...I think I will have a baked sweet potato and some broccoli AND -I must have a slice of my yummy Layered Red Velvet Cheesecake Pie for dessert. I better go -getting hungry!
5
Leftovers: Just spoon some barbecue sauce over them; cover and refrigerate. Tomorrow or the next day -warm them up with the sauce and enjoy again!
6
NOTE: I like the barbecue sauce just like this, but some of my friends like it hot. So, sometimes I either make two separate batches and/or use hot ketchup (Heinz makes a Hot & Spicy ketchup)or you can just use regular ketchup and add Tabasco Sauce (which is what I did "way back when"). I don't even think they had hot and spicy ketchup in the early 1970s. Dat's a long time ago!

Thanks Nancy. LOL! I agree, the bowl is sort of small. I did put it in a larger bowl after I took the picture. I was afraid that I would have barbecue sauce all over the place if I didn't.

I understand that you have been under the weather. I hope that you are feeling better.

Here'a a BIG Hug for you!!!!!
