Pratima's Curry Powder Blend

After reading the list of spices that are in just this particular curry blend you can see why Indian curries are so wonderful with their complex spices. This is my friend Pratima's blend. Curry blends are very personal and local to the area of India you may live in.

pinch tips: How to Quarter a Chicken


3 Tbsp
hungarian paprika
2 tsp
cumin, ground
2 tsp
fennel seed, ground
2 tsp
mustard seed, ground (yellow or black)
2 tsp
cayenne pepper
1 Tbsp
coriander, ground
1 Tbsp
turmeric, ground
1 tsp
cardamon, ground
1/2 tsp
cinnamon, ground
1/2 tsp
cloves, ground

Directions Step-By-Step

Combine all of the ingredients.

Note: Store in a cool, dark place for up to 2 months.
I usually grind my own spices, I have a coffee grinder that I use just for spices. Whole spices that are freshly ground have a much better flavor.
