My Mom would make this at least once a week growing up. She used real tomatoes mostly... but I use cans... shhhh dont tell her!!

Ingredients For my marinara sauce

  • 1/4 c
    ev olive oil
  • 2 (14oz) can
    diced tomatoes (i think hunts is best but use what you like)
  • 3-4 clove
    garlic chopped or sliced
  • 1
    handful of parsley
  • 4-5
    basil leaves rolled up and torn
  • salt & pepper to taste

How To Make my marinara sauce

  • 1
    sautee garlic in oil until it starts to get golden in color (make sure not to burn)
  • 2
    Add the tomatoes, parsley and basil and bring to a boil (stir often)
  • 3
    Simmer for about 30 minutes to an hour (the longer the better but not necessary)
