1 lbmild italian sausage

1 cantomato puree, 29 ounces

10 ozfrozen cauliflower

1/4 tspchili powder

water

1 smonion, peeled

1/4 tsppepper

2 lblean ground beef

1 cantomato paste (12 ounces)

10 ozfrozen broccoli

1/4 tspthyme
-
2 Tbspsweet basil leaves

1 mdcarrot, peeled

1/2 tspinstant minced garlic

4 tspsalt

8 cwater
How To Make italian meat sauce mix

1Peel and crumble the sausage.

2In a large kettle or dutch oven, brown the Italian sausage, ground beef, salt, pepper and minced garlic.

3Drain.

4Put onion and carrot in blender.

5Cover with water and finely chop.
-
6Drain off water and add onion and carrot to meat in the kettle.

7Continue cooking with meat mixture.

8Stir in basil, chili powder, thyme, cauliflower and broccoli.

9Add tomato puree, tomato paste and 8 cups water.

10Bring to a boil.

11Cover and simmer 8 hours.

12Skim off fat.
-
13Put into eight or nine 1 pint containers.

14Seal and label containers Italian Meat Sauce Mix.

15Freeze and use within 6 months.

16Makes between 8 and 9 pints of mix.
