I posted my one and only waffle recipe last week (Perfectly Simple Cake-like Waffles) and have since been interested in perfecting a sauce to compliment them. My husband grew up on maple syrup so this is what I went for. Turned out truly divine and slightly decadent. This sauce will also be awesome with pancakes and on toast and..............................

4 oz
whipped cream cheese
2 Tbsp
pure maple syrup
1 Tbsp
milk (optional) use as needed to thin out sauce

Directions Step-By-Step

Stir whipped cream cheese and maple syrup until well combined. Add milk to thin as needed to reach your desired consistency.

Being a diabetic I don't use 'syrup' I have to use the sugar-free syrup and it's, well let's just say, not very good.

I usually end up putting apple sauce, apple butter or the jams made by Fifty/50 Foods sugar-free.

I love this brand (Strawberry is my fav): fifty50foods.com/spreads/grape.html

Now I have another option I can use cream cheese lite and mix with any of the sugar-free syrups or jams.
