I discovered the hot sauce at Firehouse Subs. It was an automatic hit. It has good heat to it, but doesn't leave you feeling like you are on fire. it has a sweet aftertaste to it that makes it perfect. absolutely YUM!

Ingredients For dark coffee bbq sauce

  • 4 c
    tomato sauce
  • 1/4 c
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 c
    brewed coffee
  • 1/3 c
    sweet onion, 1/2 inch dice
  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    roasted garlic, mashed
  • 2 tsp
    chili powder
  • 3 tsp
    ground black pepper
  • 1/8 c
    balsamic vinegar
  • 1/8 c
    soy sauce, light
  • 1/2 c
    chopped peaches in heavy syrup
  • 2 Tbsp
    dark corn syrup
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    light corn syrup
  • 1 1/2 c
    georgia peach and vidalia onion hot sauce
  • 1/4 c
    honey
  • 3 Tbsp
    canola oil

How To Make dark coffee bbq sauce

    In a small saucepan, caramelize onions and garlic with canola oil to a golden brown.

    In a medium sauce pot, Combine tomato sauce, coffee, brown sugar, onions,and chili powder in a small saucepan.

    Once heated, add the roasted garlic, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, peaches, both corn syrups, the hot sauce and the honey.

    Bring to a soft boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and reduce mixture until slightly thickened, about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. correct seasoning with kosher salt and ground black pepper.

    Remove from heat. Cool completely before using. Can be refrigerated up to 7 days.
