Bourbon Sauce for Bread Pudding

This sauce goes great with the Muffin Bread Pudding.

Ingredients

3 Tbsp
butter
1 Tbsp
all purpose flour
1 c
whipping cream
1/2 c
sugar
2 Tbsp
bourbon
1 Tbsp
vanilla extract
1 tsp
ground nutmeg

Step-By-Step

1Melt butter in a small saucepan over med-low heat. Whisk in flour and cook, whisking constantly for about 5 minutes.
2Stir in cream, sugar and cook, whisking constantly for about 3 minutes or until thickened. Stir in bourbon, vanilla and nutmeg and cook, whisking constantly for about 5 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
3Serve over bread pudding.
