Awesome Lemon Cream Sauce w/Parmesan & Basil

I worked on this for a bit of time... I wanted a sauce that was flavorful, but didn't overwhelm the dining experience. This sauce is packed with flavor but allows the flavors of the other parts of the meal to come through... It compliments; not overpowers.

Drizzle this sauce on pork, chicken or fish… Use it as a dip for veggies… Put it on the back of you hand and lick it off. This is one yummy sauce, and can be produced in one pan.

In this recipe I sautéed a chicken breast and made some baked red potatoes with some steamed broccoli… YUMMY.

Ingredients

PLAN/PURCHASE

2 Tbsp
sweet butter, unsalted
1 Tbsp
olive oil, extra virgin
2 clove
garlic, minced
1/4 tsp
red pepper flakes, or more, to taste
1/2 c
chicken stock, not broth
1 c
heavy cream
2 tsp
flour, all-purpose variety
1/3 c
parmesan cheese, grated
1 Tbsp
fresh basil leaves, chopped
1 medium
lemon, juice plus zest
salt, kosher variety, to taste
freshly ground black pepper, to taste

2Gather your ingredients.

3Add the butter and olive oil into a saucepan over medium heat.

4When the butter melts and stops foaming, add the garlic along with the red pepper flakes.

5Stir until fragrant, about 2 to 3 minutes.

6Add the chicken stock, cream, lemon juice, flour, and then stir to incorporate.

7Add the Parmesan and stir until incorporated.

8Add the lemon zest, and basil, and stir to incorporate.

9Allow the sauce to simmer until it thickens, about 8 to 10 minutes.

10Chef’s Note: While the sauce is simmering, season with salt and pepper, to taste.
