I make this sauce using what we all use for sauce in the Marianas, but over the years it has gained a few more special "extras". When we have parties using this sauce there aren't any leftovers!!

Ingredients For saipan marinade mix

  • 4 c
    soy sauce (kikkoman)
  • 3 c
    lime juice (fresh)
  • 1 c
    garlic minced (yes, 1 full cup)
  • 1/2 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1/8 c
    sesame oil
  • 1 c
    thai chili sauce (one for dipping eggrolls)
  • 2 c
    banana ketchup
  • 1 can
    beer (michelop dark)
  • 1 c
    onions (chopped)
  • 1 c
    green onions (choppe)

How To Make saipan marinade mix

    # I cut this mix in half and add chili pepper and chili pepper oil to MY half. The other half is for those who can't hang with the chili!

    I found that if we make this the WEEK before we need it and then marinate/massage the meat for a day or two and then put it in the freezer, the meat will come right off the bone while cooking; either on the grill or in the oven.
