1 lgred onion, thinly sliced

1/2 csugar

1/4 cred wine vinegar

1/4 clight agave syrup
How To Make onion jam for steaks

1In pot over medium high heat, combine onion, sugar, vinegar, red wine, thyme; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium low; cook, stirring occasionally, until onions are very soft & translucent, 10 minutes.

2Stir in agave. Cook without burning until onions begin to caramelize & mixture is thick & syrupy, 1 - 2 minutes. Jam will thicken as it cools. Serve at once over steaks or cover & refrigerate for up to 1 week.
