Ingredients

2 Tbsp
butter or bacon fat
2 Tbsp
flour
2 c
milk
2 Tbsp
heavy cream
1 tsp
salt
3/4 tsp
black peppercorns, freshly cracked

Step-By-Step

1In a saucepan over medium-high heat, melt the butter/bacon fat.
2Whisk in the flour.
3Saute the flour until lightly browned.
4Remove pan from the heat.
5Pour the milk into the pan in a steady stream, whisking constantly.
6Return pan to the heat.
7Whisk until the gravy thickens.
8Whisk in the cream, salt and pepper.
9Keep warm until needed.
