The Cranberry is Wisconsins number one harvested fruit. A taste of this reciope and you will know why. Cranberry sauce came into the picture via General Ulysses S. Grant who ordered it served to the troops during the siege of Petersburg in 1864. Cranberry sauce was first commercially canned in 1912 by the Cape Cod Cranberry Company which marketed the product as “Ocean Spray Cape Cod Cranberry Sauce.” A merger with other growers evolved into the well known Ocean Spray Corporation now famous for their cranberry products.

  • 3 c
    cranberries
  • 3/4 c
    water
  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar

How To Make whole cranberry sauce

  • 1
    Simmer cranberries and water together. While simmering, mash with potato masher. Add sugar; simmer for 10 more minutes, stirring occasionally. Put into container and refrigerate.
