Crockpot recipe. I have included the nutrional values. This is a recipe my sister got from a friend of hers in NY. My sister is a diabetic and loves her applesauce.

Ingredients For spiced applesauce: diabetic friendly

  • 12 c
    cooking apples, cored, pared and thinly sliced
  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar substitute
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 c
    water
  • 1 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • 1 tsp
    nutmeg

How To Make spiced applesauce: diabetic friendly

    Place apples in a four quart crockpot. Combine sugar, sugar substitute,cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix with apples. Stir in lemon juice.

    cook on low for 5 to 7 hours or high for 2.5 to 3.5 hours.

    this will be a chunky sauce..You can put it through a sieve or blend it in a blender if you want it smooth. Serve hot or cold.
